Business Objects XI 3.1

BusinessObjects XI 3.1 was launced in October 2008 and promoted as the "first unified business intelligence (BI) platform delivering all information to all people on one platform". BusinessObjects XI 3.1 aims to deliver more flexibility and power to access information.

This launch was the first signal that SAP aimed to deliver on its promise made at the time it took over BO. That promise was to commit to "openness with a BI platform that supports heterogeneous computing environments". In delivering to that promise, BusinessObjects XI 3.1 offers integration with data sources from a variety of vendors, including HP, Microsoft, Netezza and Oracle.

BusinessObjects XI 3.1 also offers improved access to transactional data, with increased speed and scalability through native support for 64-bit architecture.

Key Features & Benefits

  • BusinessObjects XI 3.1 addresses the need to integrate a wide range of data sources
  • Releases information stored in ERP Solutions - PeopleSoft Enterprise, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and Siebel applications.
  • Supports 'self-service' access to all available information through multiple query, reporting and analysis tools
  • Support functionality for structured data and unstructured content integration from multiple sources

The Business Objects BI platform can seamlessly leverage information contained in data warehouses solutions from HP Neoview, Netezza and Teradata. It also integrates with Microsoft platform components like Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008, as well as Microsoft Sharepoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

BusinessObjects™ Voyager

BusinessObjects™ Voyager enables OLAP exploration of data, introduces new visualization options and presents aggregated transactional data within graphical interfaces. This supports easier exploration of data from multiple perspectives.

Using new box or scatter plots, business users can analyze, slice, dice and visualize sales data by multiple dimensions to provide a more holistic picture of their business.
