Databeacon BI SME Solution

Databeacon, has been developing a business intelligence solution for smaller companies and provides them the benefits of BI tools.

Databeacon focuses on simplifying the access and embedding of web-based reporting and analysis using a configurable server that integrates with the clients web server on a variety of operating platforms.

The Databeacon Publisher server component connects to XML, JDBC and ODBC sources, transforms them to analytic views, them publishes them to users. Databeacon claims that this aids adoption of the technology into third party solutions sold by value added resellers or software providers.

OLAP Engine

The Databeacon software is centered around the Client OLAP Reporting Environment (CORE). This CORE analytical reporting functionality is included in all Databeacon products, and supports development of OLAP cubes, self-serve and interactive reports.

User Interface

The front end tool, called Databeacon Insight Viewer, is claimed to be "easier to install, more flexible and easy to use compared to more structured and formatted reporting tools". Ventana Research positions the Databeacon solution between that of MS Excel spreadsheets [not advised for BI purposes] and high end BI solutions.

Solutions such as DataBeacon are becoming just as critical for small businesses as large corporations, providing all the benefits of interactive reporting and analysis over traditional static web reports, coupled with simple installation, administration and affordable pricing.
